Earlier this month, Seal Shield attended Medical Fair Asia in Singapore, where our team had the opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals and resellers from across Southeast Asia and introduce them to Seal Shield’s infection prevention solutions.
The event was especially reseller-heavy, with attendees from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and other markets throughout the region. It gave us the opportunity to meet with people from across Asia and learn more about how healthcare technology and infection prevention are approached in these markets.
A New Perspective on Washable Keyboards
One of the biggest takeaways from the show was just how unfamiliar washable keyboards and mice are in many Asian healthcare markets.
Many attendees were not only unfamiliar with using washable keyboards, but had never encountered them before. Keyboards are often viewed as consumables, with damaged or difficult-to-clean units simply being replaced. Although washable keyboards have been available for decades, they are still not widely used in many of the markets represented at Medical Fair Asia. This made the show a valuable opportunity to introduce a different approach to managing high-touch technology in healthcare environments.
Seal Shield’s washable keyboards and mice are available in a variety of form factors, making them well suited for mobile workstations and cart solutions where reliable, easy-to-clean technology is essential. To showcase this, our keyboards and mice were deployed on Ergotron and Capsa carts throughout the conference, allowing attendees to see them as part of a complete cart solution rather than as standalone products.
Interest Across the Seal Shield Portfolio
Interest wasn’t limited to washable peripherals, either. Attendees showed interest across all three of Seal Shield’s product ranges, with screen protectors and CleanSlate UV rapid sanitizers among the products that generated interest at the show.
Our screen protectors help protect frequently used screens while supporting routine cleaning and disinfection, while CleanSlate uses UV-C technology to rapidly sanitize mobile devices and other shared technology. Together with our washable keyboards and mice, these solutions give healthcare organizations more ways to address infection prevention across the technology they use every day.
A Growing Focus on Disinfection
Medical Fair Asia also offered a look at the growing focus on chemical disinfection throughout Southeast Asia. Alongside established global disinfectant brands, the show featured a range of companies introducing new disinfectant solutions for healthcare and other industries.
The presence of these companies reflects the continued demand for effective disinfection products across the region. Healthcare facilities are looking for solutions to support infection prevention and help reduce the spread of healthcare-associated infections, while industries such as food service and public transportation also have ongoing hygiene and disinfection needs.
For Seal Shield, seeing the variety of disinfection products at Medical Fair Asia reinforced the opportunity to bring solutions that address another important part of infection prevention: the technology people touch every day.
Looking Ahead in Southeast Asia
Medical Fair Asia was a valuable opportunity to meet people from across Asia, learn more about their markets, and introduce them to a different way of thinking about healthcare technology and infection prevention.
With such a strong reseller presence at the show, the event also provided an opportunity to build relationships with potential partners who can help bring washable peripherals, screen protection, and UV-C solutions to more healthcare organizations throughout the region.
